About this deal

The organization lost its home in Bristol in 2021, but a recent grant awarded by American Eagle Federal Credit Union has the nonprofit rabbit adoption agency on the verge of acquiring a new home.

With the holiday season upon us, there are countless displays of the spirit of generosity around us, encouraging all to help community-building organizations that are collecting contributions of money, food, warm clothing and toys for those in need. Bernardo said the ideal spot would be a facility of about 1,500 square feet, which would allow for the rabbits, office space, and other things the foster-only system doesn’t currently have.Everybunny Counts Rabbit Rescue has been looking for a new home itself, while finding new homes for bunnies. We’re a no-kill facility,” she said. “We have fosters that are willing to take all sorts of bunnies. I actually have a sanctuary bunny, Noel, whose medical needs are so far beyond what we could trust an adopter to do, so he remains a rescue bunny for his entire life. In the past year, only one bunny was humanely euthanized because of rapidly declining health issues.”

What we love about this program is that it purely rests in the hand of our members and the public,” Kennedy said. “It essentially is a grassroots program. Our membership can bring forward charitable organizations that are in our market and bring them forward to get the exposure that they deserve.” We’re putting out feelers to see who will rent to us, because not everyone wants their property rented out to rabbit people,” Bernardo said. “The zoning laws are really specific, so there are only a few towns in the state we’re allowed to exist in, because rabbits are considered agricultural animals in most towns.” The New Haven Animal Shelter is the second largest municipal animal shelter in the state. They need volunteers to help play with, walk and generally socialize the animals in their care, but they also need help making videos of adoptable pets for their YouTube Channel, and assistance with their adoption events. The Connecticut Humane SocietyVeterinarians are expensive. Currently, we have an outstanding balance with all of our veterinary clinics and considering Everybunny Counts is a no-kill shelter, we’re dedicated to making every effort to save a rabbit’s life, sparing no expense. We also spay and neuter bunnies before we adopt them out. Other Ways to Help It's hard to believe that a pop-up wasn't the creators' original intention, so seamlessly do moveable parts dovetail into this modern classic's storyline.
