Instead, we are going to help you understand the principles that will ensure you can make your own rat food in a whole variety of different ways. Start by mixing your base mix (the carbohydrate). How you do this depends a little on what you are using, but essentially you need 8 measures (e.g. cups) of the base food. So, if you are mixing together two commercial feeds but want to add four individual ingredients too, you could use 3 cups of one feed, 3 cups of the other feed and half a cup of each of the individual ingredients.
